Mel Gibson has started filming "The Resurrection of Christ", the long-awaited sequel to the film "The Passion of the Christ" (2004), at the Cinecittà studios in Rome. The main cast has been completely renewed, with Jaakko Ohtonen in the role of Jesus, Mariela Garriga in the role of Mary Magdalene, and Kasia Smutniak in the role of Mary.
