A black leather jacket, worn by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, was sold at an auction in New York for the impressive sum of $960,000, 16 times more than the estimated value of $60,000, according to Sotheby's.
The auction attracted 45 collectors, and Brahm Wachter, head of the Modern Collectibles department at Sotheby's, described the jacket as 'an item so closely tied to one of the defining figures of the AI era.' Huang, known for his signature style, often wears leather jackets at public appearances, including on the cover of Time magazine in 2021. Under his leadership, Nvidia has become the most valuable publicly traded company in the world.
The proceeds from the auction will be donated to Edge Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on teaching English and training professionals in Western business and education methods.
