In an interview for the podcast 'Hot Ones', British actor Daniel Radcliffe revealed that he received a proposal he considered one of the worst in his career: a remake of 'The Wizard of Oz' with him, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the lead roles. Radcliffe recounted that, during the peak of the 'Harry Potter' films, someone suggested that Emma play the role of Dorothy, and he should be a lion who knew karate. At the age of 14-15, Radcliffe realized that the idea was absurd and should not be made.

Although the proposal was never turned into a film, Hollywood explored other versions of the story, culminating in 'Oz the Great and Powerful' in 2013. Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint collaborated in eight 'Harry Potter' films between 2001 and 2011 and recently reunited for a special anniversary. In 2023, HBO announced a new 'Harry Potter' series, planned for release in 2027.
