The recorded music industry in Australia has decided to exclude songs entirely generated by artificial intelligence from official charts, starting Monday. This measure was announced by a representative of the industry in the context of growing concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on artists.

The decision comes after an AI version of Madonna's hit 'Like a Prayer' reached the top 20, sparking debates about the role of AI in music. Songs will only be eligible if they have been composed and performed by humans, and music generated by AI will not be accepted for the ARIA awards.

ARIA's director, Annabelle Herd, emphasized the importance of promoting human artistic creativity and mentioned that the adopted rules are in accordance with international principles. Composer Alexis Weaver welcomed the decision, highlighting the complexity and emotion of the debate regarding the use of AI in music.
