The work "Boogeyman" by Romanian painter Adrian Ghenie was sold at Christie’s auction house for 2.63 million dollars, confirming its top position in the international contemporary art market. The painting, created in oil on canvas and measuring over three meters in width, reinterprets the folkloric figure of the monster present in universal culture. The composition also features a second figure, considered a possible alter ego of the artist, which emphasizes the tension and introspective character of the scene. "Boogeyman" is part of the series "The Visitation," one of Ghenie's most appreciated works. The artist, based in Berlin, is the only European in the global ranking of the highest-rated contemporary painters and has numerous record sales, including the work "Uncle," which was sold for approximately 3 million dollars.
