According to a survey conducted by APSAP, Romanians with low incomes (under 3,000 lei) spend more time on social networks, mainly using Facebook and TikTok for information. Almost 35% of respondents prefer these platforms to news websites. Differences in education and income also influence both the sources of information and the time spent on social networks, highlighting an information polarization that may contribute to the spread of misinformation. The study suggests the need for tailored communication strategies to promote critical information consumption.
