The government has allocated 50 million lei to pay the salaries of 2,200 miners at the Valea Jiului Energy Complex, after delays in payments.

Economy Minister Bogdan Ivan has announced that 50 million lei will be transferred to the accounts of the Complex Energetic Valea Jiului to pay the salaries of the 2,200 miners who have not received their salaries on time. Ivan criticized the company's management for lack of communication on financial problems. Salaries have been delayed due to legal unclearties between ministries, but the government has passed an emergency ordinance to provide the necessary funds. The measure will also allow funding for underground safety work.
