Paul Petrof, director of the Bucharest Regional Customs Directorate, has been indicted by DNA for bribery. Between July and August 2023, he and other customs officials demanded large sums of money from businessmen to avoid criminal referrals. Paul Petrof allegedly tried to influence investigations and demanded undue benefits, including a down payment for an apartment. The case has been sent to the Bucharest Tribunal with a proposal to maintain the precautionary measures.
