A svéd Armand Duplantis 6,28 méteres ugrásával megjavította világcsúcsát rúdugrásban a stockholmi versenyen, ezzel 12. alkalommal döntötte meg személyes legjobbját. A győzelmét biztosító 6,00 méteres ugrás után Duplantis már az első kísérletével megdöntötte az új rekordot, így először fordult elő, hogy hazai közönség előtt döntse meg a rekordot. Az előző rekordját négy hónappal ezelőtt állította fel egy franciaországi versenyen.
