Incident ferroviaire dans le județ de Suceava : 11 wagons de céréales devenus incontrôlables ont percuté deux locomotives

A group of 11 freight wagons loaded with grain began moving uncontrollably and hit two locomotives on Saturday at Dornești station, in Suceava County. The incident occurred during transshipment operations carried out at Vicșani railway station, and the wagons ended up on track 4 at Dornești station.

According to the National Railway Company CFR SA, the wagons belonging to Global Grain Logistic began moving at 12:02 p.m. in the direction of Dornești. At 12:15 p.m., they entered the station and collided with two locomotives belonging to another freight rail operator.

Following the impact, several wagons derailed, while one overturned. According to local reports, the locomotives that were hit were hauling tank wagons loaded with diesel fuel, two of which derailed. Military firefighters intervened to monitor the area. The Suceava County Emergency Situations Inspectorate deployed a fire engine equipped with an extrication module and a CBRN team.

No injuries were reported, and passenger train traffic to Suceava and Rădăuți was not affected. The causes and circumstances of the incident will be established following the investigations required under the legislation in force.
