Conor McGregor wurde für 18 Monate gesperrt, weil er bei drei Dopingkontrollen nicht erschienen ist, was einen Verstoß gegen die UFC-Regeln darstellt. Obwohl er eine Sperre von 24 Monaten hätte erhalten können, führten mildernde Umstände, wie die Genesung nach einer Verletzung, zu einer Reduzierung. McGregor hat seit Juli 2021 nicht mehr gekämpft und plant eine Rückkehr im Frühjahr 2026, die mit einer MMA-Veranstaltung im Weißen Haus zusammenfällt.
