Kompany a fost numit antrenor al lui Bayern Munchen, preluându-și funcția de la Thomas Tuchel. Clubul german a anunțat că belgianul va avea misiunea de a recâștiga titlul de campion al Germaniei. Acesta a jucat în Bundesliga la Hamburger SV înainte de a se consacra la Manchester City. Kompany a debutat ca antrenor la Anderlecht în 2019, fiind și antrenor-jucător în acel sezon.
