Davies è morto sabato, dieci anni dopo che gli è stato diagnosticato un mieloma multiplo, un tipo di cancro del sangue. La band ha dichiarato: "In qualità di co-autore, insieme al partner Roger Hodgson, è stato la voce e il pianista dietro le più iconiche canzoni dei Supertramp, lasciando un'impronta indelebile nella storia della musica rock."
