Romania's team of Vlad Covaliu, George Dragomir, Radu Nițu and Răzvan Ursachi won the bronze medal at the World Fencing Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia, after a 45-41 victory over Japan. The key moment came in the seventh round, when Răzvan Ursachi turned the match, and in the last rounds Vlad Covaliu and Radu Nițu contributed decisively to the victory. This is the first medal for Romania at this championship.
