Nick Pietrowicz, the business attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Chișinău, stated that the relations between the United States and the Republic of Moldova are "excellent and strong," highlighting active cooperation with the new Moldovan government. The U.S. has invested 130 million dollars in the construction of the Strășeni–Gutinaș power line, a crucial project for Moldova's energy security, which will ensure greater energy independence. Pietrowicz emphasized that this investment not only supports Moldova but also provides opportunities for American companies in the context of the country's economic growth. He also reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to supporting democracy and the economy of Moldova. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992 and include over 126 agreements in various fields.
