The Republic of Moldova is preparing to launch 'VioData', a national system aimed at monitoring cases of violence against women and domestic violence, which will be tested at the end of 2026. This digital platform aims to improve coordination between police, doctors, and social workers, facilitating a faster and more effective intervention in managing these cases. The director of the National Agency for the Prevention and Combat of Violence, Viorica Tămbalari, emphasized the importance of collecting detailed data about the victims' journey, which will allow for the identification of blockages in the system and the prevention of serious cases, including femicides. The project, estimated at 10 million lei, will be developed in 2026 and officially introduced in 2027. Since the beginning of the year, Moldova has recorded 967 cases of domestic violence, a 9.5% increase compared to the previous year.
