In October 2025, inflation in the Republic of Moldova rose to 6.99% compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (BNS). This represents a slight increase from the rate of 6.86% recorded in September, indicating a consistent upward trend in consumer prices. Since the beginning of the year, prices have increased by 5.6%, which affects family budgets. The increase in October was mainly influenced by the rise in food prices, such as chicken eggs (+8%), vegetables (+6.8%), milk and dairy products (+0.8%), and vegetable oil (+0.7%). BNS warns that, although the current pace of price increases is lower than in previous years, developments in international prices and local tariff adjustments could continue to influence inflation.
