The 'Eugen Doga' International Airport in Chișinău took over, on November 13, the oil assets operated by Lukoil, through a loan agreement, to prevent the risks of blockage in the delivery of kerosene to the aviation sector. The Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, emphasized the importance of this oil terminal as a strategic asset, ensuring the continuity of fuel deliveries. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy is negotiating with a Romanian company for the supply of kerosene, with possible deliveries starting on November 14. Although Lukoil owns approximately 100 gas stations in Moldova, the market is diversified, and stocks are stable. However, experts warn that the sanctions imposed by the USA and the United Kingdom on Lukoil could affect the Moldovan aviation sector, especially after November 21, 2025, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
