Victor Ponta attended the Congress of the Social Democratic Party, where he commented on the decline of the PSD in voting intention polls. Ponta waited for 10 years for an invitation to this event and learned from leaders like Ion Iliescu and Adrian Năstase to be patient.

The former prime minister also reiterated the idea that USR should leave the government, with Marcel Ciolacu also sharing the same opinion. Former PSD leaders, such as Adrian Năstase and Mircea Geoană, were also present at the congress. Viorica Dăncilă declined the invitation, while Liviu Dragnea was not invited.
