The leader of PNL Iași, deputy Alexandru Muraru, accused the PSD and AUR branches of collusion in the elections for the mayor of the commune of Vânători, Iași County. Following the vote, the PSD candidate, Bogdan Lupu, won with 57% of the votes, while the PNL representative, Vasile Asoltanei, obtained 40.3%.
The AUR candidate, Maria Neder, was left with only eight votes, which represents 0.37% of the total. Muraru claims that AUR abandoned the campaign, thus facilitating PSD's victory. He believes that PSD took advantage of this situation and that AUR put forth a candidate without real chances, leaving the way clear for PSD. Voter turnout was 60.6%, and the elections were organized after the death of the PSD mayor.
