Russia has announced that its troops have advanced significantly in the Zaporozhye region, capturing the localities of Rivnopillia and Mala Tokmachka, which threatens the city of Huliaipole. Despite a smaller army, Ukraine is strengthening its defense in Donetsk, in the face of intense artillery and drone attacks from Russian forces. Since the end of June, Russia has advanced on a wide front, by at least 30 km, and now controls approximately 19% of Ukraine's territory.
Ukraine, which still holds 7,000 square kilometers of Zaporozhye, including the city of the same name, is facing difficulties in maintaining defensive positions due to a lack of soldiers. The Ukrainian chief commander reported an intensification of fighting in the area, and withdrawals from affected villages highlight the challenges faced by the Ukrainian army.
