Emmanuel Macron has again criticized Donald Trump's trade policy, denouncing the revival of the tariff war as an aberration and a tool of blackmail. In his speech at the International Conference on Financing for Development, he emphasized that tariffs imposed by powerful countries do not rebalance trade but rather create barriers. Macron also called for rethinking the World Trade Organization to tackle inequality and climate change. He warned that tariffs could severely hurt the economies of developing countries.
