Georgian Dumitru Pîrvu, a 38-year-old Romanian, was arrested in Great Britain after being internationally wanted for a fatal accident that occurred on April 29, 2021, in Ialomița County. Following a dispute with his girlfriend's relatives, he drove under the influence of alcohol at a speed of 126 km/h and entered the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a car that had a man, his wife, and their one-year and four-month-old daughter inside. The girl died on the spot, and the father passed away a few days later, leaving the mother with serious injuries and sequelae. Pîrvu had a 20-year prison sentence warrant for domestic violence and qualified murder. British authorities will begin extradition procedures to bring him to Romania, where he will serve his sentence.
