The European Union invested 1.720 billion euros in healthcare in 2023, which represents 10% of the total GDP of the community bloc. However, four member states - Romania, Luxembourg, Hungary, and Ireland - had healthcare spending that did not exceed 7% of GDP. This data was published on Monday by the European Office for Statistics (Eurostat), highlighting the discrepancies in the allocation of healthcare resources among the different EU member states. This situation suggests a need to evaluate health policies in these countries to improve access and the quality of medical services.
