Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that he will request, within the governing coalition, the organization of elections for the Bucharest City Hall either in the last week of November or in the first week of December. Bolojan emphasizes the importance of quickly organizing these elections in the interest of Bucharest residents. Discussions about the elections were tense during a recent Coalition meeting, where USR filed a criminal complaint against the Government for delaying the organization of the elections. This caused discontent among the social democrats, who left the meeting.

PSD Vice President Lia Olguța Vasilescu warned that a joint candidacy from PNL and USR could lead to the breakup of the coalition, emphasizing that each party should decide whether it will have a joint candidate or will run separately. Vasilescu also mentioned that PSD might withdraw into opposition if their proposals are ignored.
