A accountant from the Capital, accused of embezzling 1.2 million lei from the accounts of two public schools, has been released by prosecutors, being placed under judicial control for 60 days. Initially, he was detained for 24 hours, but prosecutors did not request preventive arrest. The man, B.A., has restrictions, including a ban on performing accounting activities.
The Prosecutor's Office next to the Court of Sector 5 specified that, between 2019-2025, the accountant made 219 unjustified transfers amounting to approximately 1,000,000 lei from a school's account to his personal accounts, and between 2021-2025, he made 24 transfers amounting to approximately 200,000 lei from another school's account.
